Event basics #
What is Sutherland 2 Surf? +
It’s an 11km fun run and walk.
Where does it start and finish? +
Starts in Flora Street, Sutherland (between Merton and Belmont Streets) and finishes at Don Lucas Reserve, Cronulla.
What time does the race start? +
7:30am sharp. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior.
ENTRIES AND DATES #
Can I enter late/in person? +
Late entries will be available on: 10am – 4pm. Saturday 18 July 2026 at Wanda Surf Life Saving Club, 2 Marine Esplanade, Cronulla. 10am – 2pm. Saturday 18 July 2026 at Tradies, 57 Manchester Road, Gymea. Sunday 19 July 2026 at the Sutherland Multi Purpose Centre, 123 Flora Street, near the start line
Do you accept Apple Pay? +
Apple Pay is being added to late entry payment options (where available).
Is entry refundable? +
No, entries are non-refundable (see Terms and Conditions).
RACE BIBS AND TIMING #
How does timing work? +
Timing is via a single-use Bib Tag attached to your race bib.
How should I wear my bib? +
Clearly visible on the front of your torso. Do not fold, bend or wrinkle it, and do not cover it.
Wheelchair entrants: +
Place the bib on your shins so the timing mechanism can be activated.
I forgot or lost my bib. What do I do? +
Limited replacement bibs may be available for a fee of $20.
Gun time vs net time: +
Start and finish mats provide net time, but all prizes and placings are based on gun time.
Bib distribution (mailouts and collection): +
• Bibs will be posted out to you commencing June 2026. • In-person collection after 29 June 2026: Saturday 18 July 2026 and Sunday 19 July 2026.
LATE ENTRIES AT WANDA (SATURDAY 18th July) #
Where? +
Wanda Surf Life Saving Club (Founders Room). 9:30am – 4:00pm.
TRANSPORT AND ROAD CLOSURES #
How should I plan travel? +
Plan ahead and allow extra time. Consider public transport, taxi/rideshare, being dropped off, or walking for short trips.
Where can I plan public transport? +

Closest train station to the start line? +
Sutherland (T4 line).
Where can I find real-time traffic updates? +
livetraffic.com.
Where is the road closure map? +
This will be available in June.
What time do roads reopen? +
Closures progressively reopen in an eastbound direction from around 8:20am, with roads reopened by around 10:30am (subject to conditions).
How do I get back to the start line/ finish line? +
Sutherland 2 Surf\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s Official Travel Partner U-Go Mobility will be there offering complimentary U-Go Mobility shuttle buses which will run between the start line and finish line (and return). The full schedule will be published closer to the event date.
PARKING #
Is there dedicated event parking? +
No.
Can I move my car if it’s parked along the route? +
Vehicles parked along the route cannot be moved while the event is underway.
BAGGAGE #
Is there baggage drop? +
Yes, at the start line in Sutherland.
What can I leave? +
Individual clothing items only (t-shirt, jumper, gloves).
What can’t I leave? +
No personal bags (backpacks, purses, handbags).
How do I collect my items? +
Show your bib to baggage volunteers when dropping off and when collecting. Baggage pick-up is at Don Lucas Reserve.
TOILETS, DRINK STATIONS, MEDICAL #
Are there toilets on the course? +
Toilets are available at the start, finish and approximately at the halfway mark.
Are there drink stations? +
Yes, three on course and one at the finish line.
Will there be medical support? +
First aid teams are located along the course, plus mobile St John’s and NSW Ambulance support. In an emergency, dial 000 and report your exact location.
ACCESSIBILITY #
  • Wheelchair entrants: must not go ahead of the lead vehicle.
  • Wheelchair entries close Sunday 5th June. For details, email s2s@wandaslsc.com.au.
  • Companions: please contact Wanda SLSC on 9523 4343 for further information.
ELITE RUNNERS #
  • How do I register as an elite runner? Select the ‘Are you an Elite Runner?’ option when you register.
  • Eligibility guide: males sub 36 minutes; females sub 40 minutes.
  • Proof of past events/times may be requested by the S2S committee.
RULES AND PROHIBITED ITEMS #
  • Not permitted: bicycles, scooters, hand cycles, skateboards, roller blades, roller skates, drones or other accessories that may cause injury.
  • Earphones are not permitted.
  • Dogs are not permitted unless they are assistance dogs.
  • Non-compliance with race rules may result in disqualification.
WITHDRAWING FROM THE RACE #
• If you cannot finish, please notify an official and provide your bib number so we know you’re safe.
MEDALS, PRESENTATION, PRIZES #
Do finishers get a medal? +
Yes. Collect your commemorative finisher medal after you cross the finish line.
When is presentation? +
Plan for approximately 9:30am. Prize winners must be present to claim prizes.
Are there lucky draw prizes? +
Yes. Keep your bib tag as proof of entry.
GROUP MARQUEES AT THE FINISH #
  • Is there a place for groups to set up a marquee? Yes, there is a dedicated area in the south-east corner of Don Lucas Reserve.
  • How do we apply? Email s2s@wandaslsc.com.au before the event.
  • Important: no vehicle access, tents must be weighted down only (no pegs/pickets), and groups must remove all rubbish.
SCHOOLS CHALLENGE #
The school with the highest amount of entrants will be declared the WINNER and will be presented with a plaque. Stay tuned for details of prizes.
